Every project is unique, please contact Lisa to discuss your requirements, ideas, space and budget.
- THE PROCESS:
- 1. Initial Brief – Your mosaic will begin with a design brief, drawn up between you and Lisa, over an initial telephone consultation. This will outline initial design concepts, along with any requirements of the site. Whether you have a vision or you are looking for inspiration, Lisa will design you a mosaic that fits the bill.
- Creative design that listens and responds to what you need.
- 2. Design Fee – Having talked to Lisa about your requirements, if she is to put together some design ideas for you there is a design fee per mosaic project, payable in advance but which is deducted from the final fee should the project proceed. Subject to the size of the project a site visit may be in order. Expenses would be charged to the client at cost. On smaller projects the location of the mosaic can be conveyed via photos and, other design considerations such as colour swatches can be sent on email or via the post.
3. First proposal – Design presentation and materials. We will discuss the cost of materials, if any installation costs apply, shipping, timescales and finally the total cost of the mosaic. The designs will take into account the surrounding landscape and local needs to produce an artwork that is an integral part of the environment. Once you are happy with one of these designs the work really begins, the design is ready for construction. - Always your choice
4. The go ahead – After a client’s written approval and authorization on the agreed proposal and design of the mosaic, the client will pay a non-refundable deposit equivalent to 50% of the projected project price, which is subtracted from the total final payment upon completion of mosaic. If for some unforeseen reason the client terminates the project, the deposit will not be refunded. Once the deposit is received, materials will be ordered and design of the mosaic will begin. Lisa will photograph the work in progress and keep the client informed as the project progresses.
5. Shipping is charged at cost. Portable mosaics come framed and ready to hang. Mosaics that will be fixed permanently to the wall or floor, are usually created on fiber glass mesh panels or ready-to-fix rigid panels that may be handled easily. These are put together in Lisa’s studio and shipped flat for onsite installation.
6. Installation – Subject to the scale and location of the project, Lisa prefers to oversee installations her self as the installation is such an important part of the finished work. A separate installation fee may be required however, smaller projects can be installed by your local tiler. This is something that you can discuss with Lisa when looking at your budget and the complexity of the commission.
7. Final payment – The remaining balance due shall be payable immediately upon completion of the mosaic. Once payment is received the mosaic will be shipped to its owner or installed by Lisa and her team.
